My husband has a new boss...

As I watched the inauguration today and saw how many people battled the freezing weather to be part of "history" I almost got swept away by the sight of all those people with their hopes up and tears in their eyes looking up to the new president as if he was their savior. Here are some of my thoughts about the things that happened today:
For once as a non- citizen I found it strange that another country celebrated alongside with the USA that one of their "sons" took office. As talented as he might be in the political field, he is not a natural born citizen ( defined as: born on american soil with both american parents with no ties to other governments) and that disqualifies him for the office he just took over.
For othe ther he is my husbands new boss now and that troubles me a bit. I must say it looked awfully akward when he returned the salute of some military folks in the parade and the familliar HOOOAH he was greeted with at the military ball was unaswared as well. We won't to get to see him in Uniform, since he never served in the military over whom he now has the full power and responsibility. But his plans are to allow gay and lesbians to openly serve this country in the future - a decision that might force many service members to get out. The military is different - it has to...those guys out there have to worry about their mission and not weather someone is checking them out in the shower. It will also open a can of worms weather gay or lesbian couples get housing benefits, can donate blood, live together, be afraid of getting beat up etc.

As a third many said that Martin Luther King would be proud today - but as far as I know he was against abortion. It is known now that our new President is for it and wants to double funding for the forced abortions in china.

I don't mean no disrespect. He is the head of the country and my husbands boss. But I pray that his actions will be for the greater good and in line with Gods will. Amen

If disaster strikes

I came across some interesting things lately that I wanted to share with you. If there was a food shortage or a disaster, could you survive? The military has MRI's - meals ready to eat. But there is some interesting stuff on the market for civilians:

It makes me wonder that many youtube videos are being censored about what is presently going on in this world. I remember my great uncle telling my mom an old prophecy that said that the dollar will be one day worth as much as a candy wrapper. That was in the early 80's and it sounded unimaginable. Not so anymore. I remember reading the army times a couple of months ago about troops being pulled from iraq to form a new brigade for crowd controll. It didn't click with me back than, but now it just sounds like martian law to me. And the call for a private sector that is just as well funded as the military is, what's up with that? It has me worried for what is coming next. What are your thoughts on that? Come O Jesus - come soon I pray.

A couple of weeks ago David saw an advertisement that there will be a Sesame Street show coming close to where we are and decided to take Jasmine as as surprise. It was supposed to be just the two of them since we didn't want to 'waste the money" on Sieana and me watching it. Well he came home today and said that we will go as a family, so we packed the kids in the van and drove to the Richmond Colosseum. Took a while to find a parking spot but we got a good one ( I know it sounds silly but whenever I pray for a parking spot I get really good ones !) Jasmine didn't know where we are going and you should have seen those eyes light up, she was so excited. We got a military discount and decided to upgrade the seats. We had a good time although "Elmo has a green thumb" felt a little out of place in the middle of winter. Sieana danced and clapped herself tired and fell asleep in daddies arms. She can be such a daddy girl, where as jasmine prefers to stick with mom.
We also booked our almost free time share getaway for new years. We will be going fur 3 nights to Alexandria. It was a birthday gift for my hubby. Still not sure about Christmas. I woudn't mind having a silent night right here, but if we get to see Bonnie we might drive up to New York.

Some random thoughts..

Today was kind of a crazy day. So far things have been going pretty good, I was happy to get to know things around here and with the homeschooling progress with Jasmine knowing that we made the right choice. ( the more I read on it and do it, the more convinced I am)

But today things just bugged me. I was mad (understatement of the year) with the kids jumping around, whining, things getting messy, spilling stuff, things not getting done etc.
I was angry and frustrated with myself for not being the wife I want to be and I just wanted to drop everything and go to work and have a break. And of course then I was mad for feeling that way. Anyway, it took me a minute to see that I was under attack.

Boy the enemy sure knows how to get us. I grabbed a scripture based book on child training to get some encouragement and that did the trick. I was calm again, could deal with the kids in a manner that got results instead of endlessly yelling at them. And I felt like I must be doing something right if the enemy tries to bring me of course. We had a great time with daddy just goofing around with the girls.
Lesson learned: sometimes we forget to step back and re-focus instead of trying to do it on our own!

Hello everyone!
I thought I 'll give blogging a shot, although I was never good with keeping a diary or anything like that. However, my family lives all over the world ( well 3 countries at least) and needs a way to get updates. This is a picture of me I took for my Real Estate business cards in March 2008 and since then so much happened. I am not in Real Estate anymore, started to home school our 4 year old and are staying in a 2 BR hotel in VA to be together as a family again. My hubby is completing his officer schooling here.
